LOCATION & ACTIVITIES

The position of the villa was carefully curated, food being one of the main highlights of Italian culture, it is situated near an array of Michelin-starred local restaurants for example the famous ‘Don Alfonso’ restaurant in the town of Sant’Agata (ten minutes by car) or in the near-by bay of Nerano there are ‘Quattro Passi’ and ‘Taverna del Capitano’, not forgetting the many other excellent non-Michelin starred restaurants close by.

The beaches

On the Coast of Sorrento and Amalfi, the beaches are small inlets surrounded by a high stretch of coast. 10 km away, by descending towards the Gulf of Salerno along the coast, you will find the large fine-gravel beach of Marina del Cantone, with outdoor bars and  excellent restaurants, and all kinds of water sports.

 

Going down towards the Gulf of Naples, 6 km away, you will find picturesque beaches nestled in the little bay of Marina della Lobra, or Marina di Puolo with beach establishments, outdoor bars, and restaurants overlooking the sea. 

The beaches of Positano, Praiano, Amalfi and Sorrento are within a short drive.

Trekking

The Coast of Sorrento is heaven on earth for all trekking enthusiasts. On the stretch of coast at the place which separates the coast of Amalfi from the coast of Sorrento, there are trails of breathtaking beauty amidst the mountains and the sea that are to be admired. 

If you feel like giving trekking a try, you can join excursions and guided tours along this trail and many others in the area. The most famous trail of all, which unravels high above the coasts of Amalfi and Positano, is called “Sentiero degli Dei” (Path of the Gods) due to its extraordinary beauty however the bay of Ieranto, the walk at Campanella or Fiordo di Crapolla are also beautiful and definitely worth considering even if only for the amazing views! 

Underwater sports

In Marina del Cantone, Sorrento, Positano, and other small towns of the Amalfi Coast, there are centers which organize guided tours to seabeds rich in grottoes and amazing vegetation and marine life along the coast.

Nearby tourist attractions

By staying at Villa Cicogna, you will be in a peaceful place, not crowded by tourists, and in the perfect position to visit both the Coast of Sorrento and the Coast of Amalfi.

The nearest town is the village of Sant’Agata and Massa Lubrense, where you will find some shops, bars and restaurants.

If you wish to experience the intense tourist life of the coast, with shopping streets, restaurants and museums it is only a short distance by car, bus or boat. 

Transport

From the ports of Positano and Sorrento, daily and nightly ferries, hydrofoils, and mini-cruises take visitors along the coast, to the islands of Capri and Ischia, Amalfi, Rome, Naples, and the Coast of Cilento. 

The SITA bus stop which connects Sant’Agata to Positano and Sorrento is about 200 meters away. The SITA bus service links all the towns along the coast and enables you to easily reach the archaeological sites of Pompeii, Herculaneum, Paestum, or the Reggia (Royal Palace) of Caserta. 

The nearest airport is Capodichino International Airport in Naples, about 65km away.
